Twhirl is a popular social networking client based on the Adobe AIR platform. Twhirl can connect to multiple Twitter, identi.ca, Friendfeed, Seesmic, and laconi.ca sites like HAKtweet. It will run on Windows (2000/XP/Vista) and Mac OSX.

Setting up Twhirl to use with HAKtweet is easy:

• Download Twhirl
• Under the Accounts menu, select "laconi.ca" as the account type and type "username@haktweet.com" as your screen name
• Select your newly created account and hit Connect
• Type in your password and hit Login
• That's it! Now you can send status updates to HAKtweet without having to launch a browser
  
  

Twhirl Tips:

Ding! Ding! Ding! Make it stop!

Twhirl defaults to playing a Ding! for every notification received on the public timeline. This could get annoying very quickly. To lessen the number of Dings! click the wrench icon up on top and head over to the Notify tab. Select the "only play sound for replies" checkbox in order to only hear the Ding! when someone @replies you. If those little popups in the corner start to get annoying, uncheck the "notify for public timeline" checkbox. Now you will only receive notification popups from users you are subscribed to.

Hey! Where's the tweets?

If you don't see other users status updates show up on your Twhirl, it probably means you haven't subscribed to anybody yet. Start subscribing to your friends, fans, and enemies on the HAKtweet website.. or just click on the * next to "Home" in Twhirl to view the public timeline.
